The E-Cat, invented by Andrea Rossi, is already in use by an anonymous party, and there are more units scheduled to be delivered later this year. In May of last year, AmpEnergo, an Ohio based firm, made a deal with Rossi concerning the licensing of E-Cat products built in the Americas.
Engineer Domenico Fioravanti was present at the October test of the 1 MW E-Cat plant. He confirmed that the power plant produced over 2600 kWh in five and a half hours. This means it produced an average of 479 kW.
In this test of Rossi’s E-Cat, the plant was connected to electricity to keep the water pumps going. Fans were also operating, which needed electricity as well. The E-Cat from this test, conducted on October 28, 2011, went home with the un-named customer. There are 13 more orders for the 1 MW power plants. The same customer who purchased the first 1 MW plant has ordered 12 more. Rossi said that he is constructing these to link together. These 13 plants will produce 13 MW.
The high temperature E-Cat that Rossi has been testing has now been running for over 40 days, producing a consistent COP 6, meaning that it is producing 6 times more energy than it consumes. This is an unheard of increase. Even nuclear power plants don’t have that much payoff for the energy investment. Two physicists and two entrepreneurs have a website established in preparation for marketing the E-Cat when it is finally available commercially.
There are several competitors with LENR devices who are attempting to beat Rossi to market. However, Rossi is the only one to have, reportedly, actually sold a unit that is in production.
For the record, Rossi does not accept payment for the units until they are delivered. This quells some skepticism that he is taking orders and making money without a product.
