Review: Iomega StorCenter ix2

For those who want a bare-bones NAS, the ix2 is your huckleberry: It doesn’t do a ton, but it’s cheap and easy to set up. Like the others, you can use it as a media server, and it comes bundled with decent backup software. But its transfer speeds tied for last, it doesn’t have remote access capabilities, and though it sits quietly most of the time, the little drive has a NASty habit of firing up at odd hours of the morning with a helicopterish howl.
